Stake App: Install Stake on Your Phone

Stake has no native app on the App Store or Google Play, and every 'Stake app' you find there is a fake. The real thing is a one-minute install straight from your browser. Here is exactly how, for Android and iPhone.

There is no official Stake app

Stake.com has never released a native app. Anything named "Stake" on Google Play, the App Store, or an APK download site is an unofficial clone, and clones exist to harvest your login or intercept your crypto deposit. People lose real balances to these every month.

The only safe "Stake app" is the one you make yourself: Stake's mobile site is a full progressive web app (PWA). Add it to your home screen from your own browser and it behaves like a native app, own icon, full-screen window, fast launch, no store in between. Nothing to download, nothing to trust except the domain you typed.

Install the Stake app in under a minute

Same result on both platforms: a Stake icon on your home screen that opens full-screen.

Android via Google Chrome
  1. Open a working Stake mirror in Chrome

Pick a live mirror from our verified list and open it in Google Chrome. Installing from Chrome gives you the full PWA, other browsers only create a plain shortcut.

  2. Tap the three-dot menu (top right)

If Chrome detects the installable app you may also see an install banner or an install icon in the address bar, both work.

  3. Tap "Install app" or "Add to Home screen"

On newer Chrome versions it says "Install app"; on older ones "Add to Home screen". Same result.

  4. Confirm with "Install"

Chrome drops the Stake icon on your home screen and in the app drawer. It opens full-screen, no address bar.

  5. Log in once and you are set

Your session, balance, and 2FA carry over. The icon now launches Stake like any native app.

iPhone via Safari only
  1. Open a working Stake mirror in Safari

This must be Safari. Chrome, Firefox, or in-app browsers on iOS cannot install PWAs properly, Apple only exposes the feature to Safari.

  2. Tap the Share button

The square-with-arrow icon in the bottom toolbar (on iPad, top right next to the address bar).

  3. Scroll and tap "Add to Home Screen"

On recent iOS versions it sits in the second row of the share sheet, you may need to scroll the list.

  4. Tap "Add" (top right)

You can rename the shortcut here. iOS places the Stake icon on your home screen.

  5. Launch it and log in

The PWA opens in its own full-screen window, separate from Safari tabs, with your session saved.

Which mirror should you install from?

A PWA is welded to the domain you installed it from. Install from stake.ac and the icon only works while stake.ac resolves, if that mirror gets blocked in your country, the icon goes dead even though your account is fine.

So pick a mirror that actually works where you live before installing:

If your installed icon ever stops loading, don't panic and don't reinstall some "app": delete the home-screen icon, grab a live mirror from the list, and repeat the one-minute install. Your balance, VIP progress, and 2FA live on your account, not in the icon.

PWA vs plain browser tab

Installed PWA Browser tab
Home-screen icon Yes, launches like a native app No, dig through tabs or bookmarks
Display Full-screen, no address bar or tab UI Browser chrome eats vertical space
Launch speed Faster, app shell is cached locally Cold load every visit
Session Own window, separate from browser tabs Mixed in with everything else
Push notifications Supported on Android (opt in on site); not on iOS Same, notifications follow the browser, not the install
Account safety Same account, same 2FA, nothing extra to trust Identical

Functionally the PWA is the full Stake site, same games, same sportsbook, same VIP wager progress. You're not trading features for convenience.

Stake app FAQ

Is there an official Stake app?

No. Stake.com has never published a native app on the Apple App Store or Google Play. The official mobile experience is the mobile website, which you can install as a PWA (home-screen app) in under a minute. Stake.us, the separate US sweepstakes product, is a different site with its own app situation, nothing on this page applies to it.

Is the "Stake" app I found on Google Play safe?

Assume not. Clone apps using Stake's name and logo appear regularly on Google Play, third-party APK sites, and even the App Store. They exist to steal logins or crypto deposits. Stake.com distributes no APK and no store listing, the only safe install path is adding the site to your home screen from your own browser.

Does it matter which mirror I install from?

Yes. A PWA is tied to the exact domain you installed it from. If that mirror later goes down, the installed icon stops loading, your account and balance are unaffected, but you need to delete the icon and re-add it from a currently working mirror. Check our live mirror list or the status page before installing.

Does the Stake PWA work offline?

No, betting and your balance always need a live connection. What the PWA caches is the app shell, so it launches faster and feels snappier than a cold browser tab, but you cannot place bets without internet.

Why can't I find "Add to Home Screen" on my iPhone?

You are probably not in Safari. iOS only offers proper PWA installation from Safari, Chrome and other iOS browsers either hide the option or create a degraded shortcut that opens in a browser tab. Copy the URL into Safari and repeat the steps.
